Deposits in systems of industrial facilities

Because of electrochemical processes, mineralized waters or temperature and also pressure variations in industrial facilities, corrosive processes can be initiated. These lead to the formation of minerals in the medium. The analysis of those new mineral formations contributes to the diagnosis of this processes and helps prevent acute malfunctioning in the operating procedure.

Analytics of fibers in industrial-scale processes

In industrial-scale installations sometimes malfunctions of the normal operating procedure occur, due to unpredictable events like the blockage of filter in vents or pipelines. Quite often, fibers of all sorts, length and source are the cause of this events.

IHS-Cinder-Conditioning

Within the context of renaturation of mining used areas different soil improvement concepts were prepared. One of it is the conditioning of iron hydroxide slurry (IHS) by power plant cinders within a pilot project. These conditioned IHS shall be applied as pure soil or as soil mixed with dump material.

Seam anomaly in the open-pit mine Welzow-Süd

The seam anomaly in the open-pit mine Welzow-Süd is an elongated structure, which differs from the normal-facies seam build-up. Further occur doubling of seam parts due to thrust faults, distribution gaps of the interburden 2, the local occurrence of the horizon 11 as well as...

Investigation of corrosion in plant engineering and construction

At power plant processes the formation of deposit within the scope of the flue gas line occurs at times, especially in the cyclones for fly ash separation. These deposits have a disturbing effect on normal operation and therefore are object of further investigation.

Study of clinker formation in power plant processes

At power plant processes the clinker formation within the scope of the flue gas line occurs at times, especially in the cyclones for fly ash separation. Such deposits have a disturbing effect on normal operation and therefore are object of further investigation.

Sampling, chemical and petrographical evaluation of the coal seam sequence at two profiles in the surface mine Vereinigtes Schleenhain

In the course of calibration of the SOLAS-device at the power plant Lippendorf, our company got the assignment, by Vattenfall (power plant) and MIBRAG (mine), to take geological samples from the main- and lower-seam-complex.

Coal quality treatments at the Lausitz lignite surface mine Nochten

For providing consistent, high-class feedstock for the customers of the Nochten mine, detailed knowledge of quality data is necessary already by developing of the mining strategy. Mined from the 1st and 2nd Lausitz seam is lignite for either power station or refinement with different primary resource qualities.

Mapping of sulfur content at the surface mine Nochten to designate lignite for refinement

Beside the parameter ash the content of sulfur is of significant importance for producing pulverized lignite, lignite briquette and fluidized bed lignite. These products run through processes where no smoke desulfurization is envisaged.

Mapping of poorly accessible areas in lignite surface mines

Geological structures like the “Nochtener graben” or troughs make it harder to gain access to some areas of the 2nd Lausitz seam at the surface mine Nochten. To get a representative outcrop frequency we have been instructed to find a possibility for getting access to lignite in depressions.

Study of selected section areas of the exploratory drilling in the forefield of the surface mine Jänschwalde

To clarify geological issues, geochemical point of views can provide helpful arguments. At this project we have been instructed to run an element screening at a drill core using the XRF handheld device and perform an evaluation of the element content.

Xylite classification

Important for the construction and dimensioning of mills, which for example are installed in generating stations and refinement plants to crush coal, is the content of varieties of fossil wood in the lignite seam.

For evaluating the xylite content in lignite two methods can be used.
