Geology: Survey of geological structures using GPS
To get the correlation of the location of horizons, sections and section lines as accurate as possible we utilize the possibility to determine geographical coordinates by means of satellite-based survey.
With the aid of real-time kinematic a positioning accuracy up to +/- 2,5cm can be achieved. The measurement accuracy for orthometric elevation amounts to +/- 5cm.
As GNSS-receiver we are using the R10-GNSS of the company Trimble.
